Photo courtesy of Donna Stokes Chebeague Island is an island town in Cumberland County, Maine, located in Casco Bay, 10 miles from Portland. These islands are sometimes referred to as "The Calendar Islands" because there are about 365 islands. Great Chebeague was a part of the town of Cumberland until July 1, 2007, when it became the town of Chebeague Island. As of the 2000 census, the island had a year-round population of 356. The population increases to around 2,000 in the summer months.

Transportation:
Two ferry services provide transportation to the island. The Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC) and the Casco Bay Lines phone:(207) 774-7871. There are all so several water taxi's that provide service to the island. While on the Island the best transportation is walking, or a bicycle.Services:
